Haryana: JJP issues defamation notice to Karan Chautala, Read to know why

INLD leader Karan Chautala’s recent statement regarding the infamous 1990 Meham incident has sparked a new controversy in Haryana politics. In a media interview, Karan Chautala claimed that Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala’s name was included in the FIR filed at that time. Following this statement, the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) took a strong stance and sent a legal notice to Karna Chautala.

The legal notice, sent by JJP state spokesperson Advocate Mandeep Bishnoi, accuses Karna Chautala of attempting to tarnish Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala’s image. The notice states that the INLD leader has misled the public by making false and baseless allegations, hurting the sentiments of party workers and millions of citizens of the state.

According to the notice, the JJP has demanded that Karna Chautala publicly apologize within 15 days and remove the related video clip from social media and other platforms. Failure to do so has threatened legal action against them.

Advocate Bishnoi clarified that in FIR No. 76, dated March 1, 1990, at Police Station Meham, the complainant, Dharampal, son of Amilal Jat, resident of Medina, District Rohtak, related to the Meham incident, only named Abhay Singh Chautala. Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala was not named in that FIR. He explained that on the day of the incident, Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala was not in Meham but was in the Dataramgarh Assembly constituency of Rajasthan.

Mandeep Bishnoi stated that the people of the state are well aware of Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala’s soft-spoken and friendly nature and that he has a reputation as a clean and composed politician. He alleged that INLD leader Karan Chautala, out of political malice, has attempted to tarnish the reputation of the JJP and its leadership by making false statements.
