Haryana: Joining of ASI Sandeep’s wife delayed; letter expected to be issued soon

ASI Sandeep Lathar’s wife, Santosh, was unable to join as a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) of Mathematics at the MDU campus school on Monday. ​​Her appointment letter could not be issued from Chandigarh due to the illness of the state government’s Chief Secretary, Rajesh Khullar.

The letter is expected to be issued after the Chief Secretary recovers or another officer takes charge.

It may be recalled that on October 14, ASI Sandeep’s body was found on the first floor of a room in his maternal uncle’s field in Ladhot village. He had shot himself in the temple with his service revolver.

He had also released a video before his death. A five-page suicide note was also found at the scene. His family had demanded that Chief Minister Nayab Saini provide a government job to Sandeep’s wife, Santosh. The government had granted this request last month. Santosh was supposed to join the MDU campus school this week, but the letter has not yet been issued.

Sandeep’s cousin, Bhup Singh Lathar, said that a Haryanvi singer from Brahmanwas village in Jind district will visit Brahmanwas village on Wednesday and donate an ambulance in ASI Sandeep’s name to the cowshed in Budhakhera village so that sick and injured cows can be transported to the veterinary hospital.
