Operation Trackdown: Haryana Police arrest two members of Rohit Godara gang

Haryana Police’s ongoing intensive crackdown against criminals under Operation Trackdown has achieved another significant success today.

A team from the Special Task Force (STF) Gurugram has arrested two active members of the Rohit Godara gang, Naresh Kumar and Sanjay alias Sanjeev, both residents of village Saidpur, Narnaul district. Both accused had been absconding from police custody for the past 11 months and carried a reward of ₹5,000 each.

On December 5, 2024, these two accused carried out a deadly attack on Amit, son of Satyapal, a member of a rival gang, resident of Surani, Mahendragarh district, in the Narnaul court complex. Following the incident, the accused frequently moved locations and evaded arrest.

The STF Gurugram team, following continuous tracking based on technical surveillance and intelligence, successfully apprehended the two accused on November 9. They were subsequently handed over to the STF unit in Bahadurgarh.

Accused Sanjay alias Sanjeev has approximately ten criminal cases registered against him, and accused Naresh Kumar has four criminal cases registered against him. Cases of serious crimes like organized crime, attempt to murder and illegal possession of arms are pending against both of them. In this case, FIR No. 544/2024 has been registered at Police Station City Narnaul, District Mahendragarh under sections 109(1), 126, 191(2), 191(3), 61 BNS.

A total of 209 dreaded criminals and 1173 other accused have been arrested so far in Operation Trackdown, being run bythe  Haryana Police. On November 10 alone, 48 dreaded criminals and 179 other accused were arrested by the police.
