Government and Haryana Police’s Strict Policy Against Drug Smuggling
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal (IPS) stated that under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is implementing a strict policy against drugs and conducting a massive campaign across the state. With this same resolve, the Haryana Police is taking continuous, effective action to dismantle the entire network of drug smugglers. He emphasized that no individual involved in the drug trade would be spared under any circumstances, and strict legal action would be ensured.
Roadblock Set Up Based on Secret Information; Smugglers Flee Leaving Vehicle Behind
Hisar Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddhant Jain stated that the Anti-Narcotics Cell team was patrolling and conducting an anti-drug smuggling operation on Highway NH-9A near the Raipur railway bridge. During this time, they received credible secret information that three youths were heading towards Hisar in a white Swift car, carrying a large quantity of poppy husk. Upon receiving the information, the police team set up a roadblock near Raipur Chowk. During the operation, the suspected Swift car was spotted parked on the roadside. Seeing the police team, the three occupants abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled towards the fields.
Police Conducting Continuous Raids to Trace Absconding Accused
He mentioned that the preliminary investigation revealed the car was registered in the Karauli district of Rajasthan. Based on questioning the vehicle owner and the individuals who had rented it, it was found that the vehicle was in the possession of a suspect against whom a case of drug smuggling has been registered. Special police teams are continuously conducting raids to apprehend the absconding accused.
