According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sudden change in weather is due to an active western disturbance moving across the region. Such systems are known to bring snowfall in the mountains and rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in the plains.

The alert initially covers northern and central districts, with conditions expected to expand across the state by the following day. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of intense weather activity.

Before the weather shift, Haryana had been experiencing above-normal temperatures, with some areas recording significantly higher readings for this time of year. The recent snowfall in the hills and the upcoming rain are expected to bring temperatures closer to seasonal averages.
