Storm Alert in Haryana: 15 Districts on Weather Watch

The weather department has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for around 15 districts of Haryana, warning of sudden weather changes accompanied by strong winds and lightning. The alert comes as a western disturbance becomes active over North India, triggering unstable atmospheric conditions.

Strong Winds Up to 60 km/h Expected

According to forecasts, thunderstorms may be accompanied by gusty winds ranging between 40 and 60 km/h, posing risks to standing crops and temporary structures. Some areas could also witness lightning and isolated hailstorms during this period.

Farmers on Alert Amid Crop Damage Concerns

The sudden change in weather has raised concerns among farmers, as strong winds and possible hailstorms may damage wheat and other crops ready for harvest. Experts warn that this weather pattern could lead to localized agricultural losses if intensity increases.

Temperature Likely to Drop

The rainfall and cloud cover are expected to bring relief from rising temperatures, with a drop of 2–4°C likely across several parts of the state. This temporary cooling however, may be accompanied by high humidity and unstable conditions.

Meteorologists attribute the sudden weather activity to an active western disturbance affecting northern states, including Haryana, Punjab and Delhi. Such systems often bring rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds during the pre-summer period.
