In a significant step towards improving road safety, Haryana hosted a large-scale road safety seminar in Chandigarh, witnessing participation from more than 350 experts and researchers from across the country.
The seminar, organised under the aegis of the Haryana government in association with national-level institutions, marked one of the largest such gatherings in the state focused on road safety.
Experts from engineering, traffic management, policymaking, and enforcement agencies came together to discuss strategies to reduce road accidents and improve transportation systems.
CM Nayab Singh Saini addresses gathering
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed the seminar and emphasised that road safety is not just a legal issue but a moral responsibility of every citizen.
He highlighted that while the government can implement policies and infrastructure improvements, public cooperation is equally essential to prevent accidents and save lives.
The Chief Minister urged people to strictly follow traffic rules, including wearing helmets, using seat belts, and avoiding overspeeding.
Focus on reducing accidents and fatalities
The seminar focused on identifying key causes of road accidents and finding effective solutions. Experts discussed:

- Identifying and fixing accident-prone “black spots”
