80 Kmph Storm Batters Haryana: Trees, Poles Uprooted; Roof Collapses in Kurukshetra, Alert Issued in 10 Districts

In Haryana, the weather took a big turn after midnight on Thursday-Friday. Several districts experienced rain accompanied by storms with winds blowing at 80 KM/H. Trees and poles broke and fell onto the roads. In Fatehabad, roads were blocked due to fallen trees. In Tohana, a 10-foot-high wall fell on a car. In Kurukshetra, a person was trapped under debris when a house roof collapsed.

Earlier, heavy rains occurred in Sirsa, Sonipat, Panipat, Ambala, and Yamunanagar. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for storms and rain today (June 12) as well. According to the weather department, the weather will remain bad in 22 districts of the state today. There will be hail and winds blowing at 80 KM/H.

Due to the moisture coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, most parts of the state are likely to experience strong storms, lightning, and hail. The weather will improve slightly from June 13, but it will only clear up after June 15.

There is an alert for thunderstorms with hail in northern and western districts like Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Sonipat, Panipat, Sirsa, and Fatehabad. Also, dust storms with speeds of 60 to 70 km per hour are expected in Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, Rohtak, Hisar, and Bhiwani.
