Haryana: Throat slit, Missing Youth’s body found after two days in field

The body of Mohit, a 19-year-old youth who had gone missing two days ago, was discovered in a field in Farmana village, located within the Meham Chaubisi region. The young man was murdered by having his throat slit. His severed head was found amidst a wheat crop, a short distance away from his torso. The Meham Police Station is currently investigating the incident.

According to the police, Vakil alias Baniya, a resident of Farmana village, filed a complaint on Friday evening stating that he has five children: three daughters and two sons. His son, Mohit, had left home around 6:00 PM on Thursday evening, telling his family that he was going to attend a wedding to participate in the traditional custom of collecting money thrown during the festivities. He did not return thereafter.

They searched for him throughout the day on Friday but met with no success. They initially assumed he had gone to visit a friend or a relative.

FIR Lodged 

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the missing person and initiated a search for the youth. Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, his body was discovered in a wheat field located on the outskirts of the village.

Upon receiving the news, villagers gathered at the scene. The torso and the head were found separated from each other. FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) expert Dr. Saroj Dahiya was summoned to the spot. Ravindra, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Meham Police Station, stated that the body has been taken into custody.

The police are currently investigating to determine whether the youth was murdered or if his head was severed by an animal attack.
