Haryana Weather Alert: Rain, Hail Likely; Temp Drops for 2 Days

In Haryana, the weather has once again changed course since Monday night. On Monday night, light to moderate rainfall was observed in Hisar, Gurugram, Narnaul, Bhiwani, and surrounding areas. Today, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rainfall, strong winds, and hailstorms in 17 districts of the state.

Apart from this, light rainfall is also expected in other areas. In addition, adverse weather conditions are expected tomorrow, May 8, as well. According to experts, this weather change could directly affect the crops left in the fields after wheat harvesting, vegetables, and horticulture.

Today, in Sirsa, Hisar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Rewari, Nuh, Palwal, Gurugram, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, and Kaithal, there is a possibility of strong winds (40-50 km/h), lightning, and hailstorms. The administration has been asked to remain on alert mode.

Warning for Farmers

Agriculture experts have advised farmers to keep the crop in a safe place after harvest. Use covers to protect vegetables and fruit-bearing plants from hail. There is also a risk of standing crops falling due to strong winds.

 Maximum temperature: A slight increase in maximum temperature has been recorded in Haryana, but it remains below normal. In many districts, the daytime temperature ranged between 31 to 34 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the movement of clouds and the possibility of intermittent rainfall, temperatures are not rising significantly. The same situation may continue over the next two days. Due to strong winds and rainfall, a drop in daytime temperature may be observed, which will provide some relief from the heat.

 Minimum temperature: A slight drop in minimum temperature has been recorded in the state, and it remains below normal. Night temperatures were recorded between 14 to 18 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, fluctuations in night temperatures will continue due to the influence of Western disturbances. Clouds and cool winds are making the night weather pleasant. However, due to suddenly changing weather, a further drop in temperature is also possible. Its impact may affect crops and common life, especially those farmers who have recently harvested.
