Haryana Weather Today: Dense Fog Warning in Seven Districts, Temperatures to Rise Slightly

Chandigarh: The weather in Haryana is expected to be mixed today. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in seven districts. Visibility is expected to be low in the morning, especially in the northern and northeastern districts. However, due to the influence of a western disturbance and a change in wind, temperatures are expected to rise slightly.

Both the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded a slight increase compared to the previous day. The Meteorological Department reports that on January 17, the average minimum temperature in the state increased by about 1.1 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature increased by 2.3 degrees. Despite this, the chilly morning and evening conditions persisted.

The Meteorological Department has issued a fog warning for Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, and Sonipat. The weather is expected to remain clear in the remaining districts. Meanwhile, schools in Haryana are reopening on Monday.

Cold persists at night, Narnaul the coldest

While Haryana recorded a slight increase in minimum temperatures on January 17, cold weather persisted during the night and morning. According to the Meteorological Department, the state’s average minimum temperature remained around normal.

The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Narnaul at 3 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest in the state. In other districts, Karnal recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius, Rohtak 5.4 degrees Celsius and Hisar 5.6 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Ambala was 5.8 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department says that the minimum temperature is expected to rise by another 1 to 2 degrees in the coming days, but fog and cold weather will persist in the morning.

Mild warmth during the day

Daytime temperatures increased significantly compared to the previous day. The state’s average maximum temperature increased by approximately 2.3 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded in Gurugram (KVK) at 22.8 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state.

Faridabad recorded 21.5 degrees Celsius, while Rohtak recorded 20.9 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures in districts like Ambala and Hisar hovered around 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, sunshine is expected to continue to slightly increase maximum temperatures over the next few days, reducing the chill during the day, although mornings and evenings will remain chilly.
