Haryana: Weather takes a turn; rain accompanied by strong winds brings relief from heat

On Monday morning, clouds hovered over most districts of Haryana. Meanwhile, Mahendragarh and Rewari witnessed heavy storms accompanied by rain, bringing much-needed relief to residents from the heat. Rain fell in the Kanina region of Mahendragarh, while surrounding areas experienced light drizzle.

Notably, the temperature in Mahendragarh stood at 31 degrees Celsius in the morning, whereas the maximum temperature in the Kanina region dropped to 20 degrees. The sudden onset of rain accompanied by strong winds in the morning provided relief to people from the humidity and heat. Furthermore, clouds persisted over the Mahendragarh region, and the gusty winds kept the atmosphere cool.

Additionally, Rewari also received rain on Monday morning. The sky was overcast with dense clouds on Monday morning, and almost instantly, the rain began. Currently, weather expert Dr. Chandramohan states that the weather in the Delhi-NCR region remains generally changeable, though predominantly dry.

Since the beginning of May, the continuous activation of successive Western Disturbances has brought about changes in the weather—including storms, light rain, drizzle, and hailstorms—keeping both day and night temperatures across the entire region below normal levels and providing relief from scorching heat and heatwaves.

Due to the active Western Disturbances, weather conditions in Haryana and Delhi-NCR are expected to remain variable between May 11 and May 13. The region is likely to experience winds gusting at speeds of 40–50 kilometers per hour, along with light rain and drizzle. However, temperatures are expected to rise once again after May 15.
