Haryana Gets Relief from Fog, Minimum Temperatures Drop; IMD Issues Fog Warning

Haryana got relief from fog after two days on Tuesday morning. The weather remained clear in Sonipat, Rewari, Fatehabad, Jhajjar and other districts. These districts were witnessing dense fog and road accidents for the last two days.

IMD issues fog warning

However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fog warning for districts of South Haryana, Rajasthan and the National Capital Region (NCR). Drivers have been advised to take special care while driving in the morning.

Weather remained clear due to change in wind direction

The weather cleared in the evening due to change in wind direction. Northwesterly winds dispelled the fog in many areas. Earlier, southeasterly winds had increased humidity. Meteorologists say that winds blowing from the mountains towards the plains may bring down the minimum temperature again.

The minimum temperature in Narnaul was 1 degree below normal.

The minimum temperature of the night was recorded 0.5 degrees below the previous day, but remained close to normal. Narnaul in Mahendragarh had the coldest night, where the temperature was recorded at 6.0 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in other major cities:

Sirsa: 6.2 degrees

Hisar: 6.6 degrees

Panchkula: 6.9 degrees

Night temperatures in Gurugram and Panchkula dropped by 2 degrees.

Narnaul had the coldest night, but Jind, Panchkula and Gurugram also felt cold. The temperature in Jind dropped by 2.4 degrees, while the night temperatures in Gurugram and Panchkula dropped by 2.2 degrees.

Minimum temperatures in other parts of the state:

Karnal: 8.8 degrees

Rohtak: 8.2 degrees

Ambala: 10.7 degrees

Chandigarh city: 8.2 degrees

Chandigarh airport: 8.4 degrees

Slight increase in maximum temperature

Haryana’s average maximum temperature rose by 0.1 degrees Celsius on Monday. Yamunanagar recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 20.7 degrees, and Charkhi Dadri recorded the highest temperature of 25.7 degrees.

Fog warning issued

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog warning for the following districts:

Sirsa, Hisar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Narnaul, Rewari, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh and Palwal. However, the weather remained clear in most areas, and dense fog was not seen anywhere today.

Future Weather Forecast

The weather in Haryana will remain dry and variable till December 20. Light to moderate north and northwest winds on December 16 and 17 may cause a drop in night temperatures, while a slight increase in day temperatures is expected.
