Haryana Youth Dies in Tragic Road Accident in Canada

Yamuna Nagar: A 24-year-old man from Haryana’s Yamunanagar district tragically died in a road accident while traveling to Toronto, leaving his family in shock and grief.

Victim Identified as Udham Preet Singh

The deceased has been identified as Udham Preet Singh (24), son of Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Chhota Model Town, Yamunanagar. Udham, the only son of his parents, had moved to Canada in 2021 on a study visa and was living in Brampton while pursuing his studies and working.

According to family members, Udham’s father, Gurvinder Singh, runs a photography business called “Singh Color Lab.” To send his son abroad, he sold land in 2021 and spent lakhs of rupees, supporting Udham’s dream of studying and working overseas.

Fatal Road Accident on the Way to Toronto

Reports indicate that Udham was traveling with a friend on Thursday, taking advantage of two days off work. Around 2:30 pm, near Toronto, their car collided head-on with a speeding truck. The impact was severe, mangling the vehicle. Udham died on the spot, while his friend sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized.

Family Receives Tragic News

The family in India received the news late at night, plunging them into mourning. Devastated by the loss of their only son, they are demanding that the government assist in bringing his body back to India for the last rites.

Udham had returned to India in December 2025 to celebrate his parents’ silver jubilee, sharing happy moments with his family before going back to Canada. His father, Gurvinder Singh, spoke to him on Wednesday night, unaware that it would be their last conversation.
