2 children died after drowning in a drain in Faridabad, Haryana. The children were returning from a wedding ceremony on a bike with their parents. Due to the bad condition of the road, the bike lost its balance and the whole family fell into the drain along with the bike.
The son and daughter died in this accident. The couple had reached the shore by swimming, due to which the local people pulled them out. A girl was also saved by the people. But by the time people could take out the second girl, she had died. The 4-year-old son also died in this accident.
The family is a resident of Rajiv Colony. Dataram and his wife Rajni were going through the Tigaon bridge. But the road was bad and narrow. The bike lost balance while passing on it. As soon as the balance was lost, the bike slipped and fell into the drain. People saved the couple and one of their daughters in time.
The incident happened at 10 pm. After which the police was informed. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the bodies of both the children into custody and sent them to the civil hospital for postmortem. The deceased have been identified as 4-year-old Nikhil and 8-year-old Sakshi. Their other daughter 6-year-old Meenakshi is safe.
Police investigation officer Bhupendra said that investigation has been done after reaching the spot. Investigation has revealed that there was a lot of water in the drain. Due to which both the children died by drowning. Due to the narrow and short path, the bike slipped and fell into the drain. Local people tried to save the family but 2 children died in the accident.
