Gurugram, Haryana: Two new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Gurugram, taking the total number of cases in the district to 10. According to the health department, a 74-year-old man from Sector 49 and a 37-year-old man from Civil Lines have tested positive for COVID-19.
No recent travel history of the two patients has been found, raising the possibility of local spread of the virus. Health officials said that the condition of both the patients is stable and they have been kept in home isolation.
People who came in contact with the patients are being identified so that they can be tested and monitored. Deputy CMO Dr. JP Rajliwal said that both the patients have mild symptoms and they are being monitored regularly.
The district administration has appealed to people to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol. Wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands regularly has been advised.
Private and government hospitals put on alert
Vigilance has been increased once again due to the arrival of new cases in Gurugram. The administration has put private and government hospitals on alert and has instructed them to increase the speed of testing. Local residents have been appealed to get tested immediately if they notice any symptoms and be cautious in crowded places.
