2 students die in road accident in Panipat, 1 critically injured

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two college students while their third friend remains in critical condition.

Panipat, Haryana:  A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two college students while their third friend remains in critical condition. The incident took place on Thursday near Nara village in Panipat when a bullet motorcycle collided with a Scorpio SUV while attempting to overtake a bus.

The victims, SAurav (19) from rajiv Colony, Safidon, Ravish Goyat (22) from Jahaz Kalan, and Chirag from Dutta Colony, Panipat, were all second-year B.Pharmacy students at PDM College in Karsandhu village, Safidon.

Fatal Collision during overtaking

According to eyewitnesses, the trio was following a bus when they attempted to overtake it near the power station. However, as they moved to the side, their Bullet crashed head-on into an oncoming Scorpio. The impact was severe, causing all three to be thrown onto the road.

Local residents rushed them to Panipat Civil Hospital in an ECO Car, but doctors declared Saurav and Ravish dead on arrival. Chirag, who was admitted at Khanpur Medical College for further treatment.

Ravish was one of the deceased, the only son in his family and had three sisters.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have recovered the Scorpio involved in the accident and taken it to the police station for investigation. The exact cause of the accident is still being examined.

This accident has once again raised concerns about road safety, particularly regarding reckless overtaking and helmet usage among 2 wheeler riders.
