46-year-old Man shot dead in Rohtak, old rivalry suspected

Rahul Ranga, son of the deceased has told in the complaint that his father had gone out of the house to get medicine at a medical store.

Rohtak: A man was shot dead in public in Rohtak, Haryana. The murder was committed due to some old rivalry. The man had come out of jail only 7 months ago. The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Madan Ranga, a resident of Titauli village.

Madan Ranga’s son Rahul Ranga informed the police about his father’s murder. As soon as the information was received, the Sadar police station started investigating the matter. Madan Ranga used to do contracting work, while his wife is a fourth-class employee in the Municipal Corporation of the district.

Rahul Ranga, son of the deceased has told in the complaint that his father had gone out of the house to get medicine at a medical store. Then the accused took advantage of the opportunity and shot his father. The bullet hit Madan’s stomach.

As soon as Rahul got the news, he immediately reached the spot, and took his father to PGI where the doctors in the hospital declared his father dead. The police was informed about the matter.

At the scene, DSP Vidyanand and Sadar police station in-charge Inspector Murari Lal said that a case had been registered on the statement of the family members.

Madan was in jail for attempted murder

A case was registered against Madan in November 2021 for attempting to murder two boys of the village. Shravan and his cousin Sudhir alias Thana, who live in Titauli village, were shot by Madan Ranga. Both the brothers survived this attack.

But the police registered a case against Madan and arrested him. Madan remained in jail till 2023 and during this time he was released after a settlement was reached between the two parties in a panchayat.
