5 players from Karnal qualified for Khelo India; Coach says ready for international success

Chandigarh: Five players from Karnal have qualified for Khelo India competitions. Among them, two players have been selected in the Under-18 category, one player for the Para Khelo India University Games and two players for the Youth Khelo India competition.

These players have made their place at the national level with their performance and now they are preparing to achieve success at the international level.

The coach told the secret of the hard work of the players

Trials are going on since Friday for the selection of players at national and international level under Khelo India program. Mayank Sharma, coach of Karnal based sports academy, told that he prepares his players for javelin throw and running.

He told that he started the game with Neeraj Chopra and Neeraj still helps him. The coach told that his players have also won medals in the World Championships.

He said proudly that this time five of his players have qualified for Khelo India. These include two in Under-18, one in University Games and two in Para Games.

Coach Mayank Sharma expressed concern over today’s youth being too busy with mobile and social media. He said that this is affecting the physical and mental health of children.
