Hisar: A 25-year-old PhD student admitted for appendicitis surgery on Monday at Sukhda Hospital on Delhi Road in Hisar, Haryana, died before the operation. The family members created a ruckus outside the hospital late at night, accusing the doctor of negligence. The family sat on the road itself.
The name of the deceased student is Richa, and she was a resident of Jawahar Nagar in Adampur. After receiving information about the death of the student and the ruckus, the Urban Estate Police Station reached the spot. The family blocked the road at 1 a.m., demanding action against the doctor. On receiving the information, a large number of police forces were under the leadership of DSP Vijaypal. The family members moved away from the road only after filing a complaint. The family has refused to take the body of the girl. They are demanding an FIR first.
Rohit, brother of the deceased student Richa, said that his sister was given an injection of anaesthesia before the operation. His sister died due to an overdose. The doctors are responsible for this. The sister’s checkup was also done. If her heart was weak, then the doctor would not have taken the risk of surgery.
The family of the student said that until action is taken against the accused doctor and staff, they will not lift the dead body of their daughter. On this matter, family members, social workers, and other people will gather outside the hospital today and discuss strict action against the doctor.
Mandi Adampur’s commission agent, Gaurav Singla, told the Urban Estate police station in a complaint in a complaint that his niece Richa was suffering from appendicitis. On Monday at 2 p.m., he and his nephew Rohit and Richa’s mother, Mannudevi, brought her daughter Richa to Sukhda Hospital. There, Dr. Amit Mehta talked about Richa’s appendicitis operation.
After this, he took her to the operation theater for treatment. After some time, the doctor called him in front of the OT. The doctor said that Richa’s heartbeat has stopped and her health has worsened. On this, Gaurav Singla said that Richa was absolutely healthy. Shortly after this, Dr. Deepak Das said that Richa had died.
Gaurav Singla has alleged in the complaint that Richa died due to negligence in treatment by Dr. Amit Mehta, Dr. Deepak Das, and Dr. Manisha Mehta. Because before the operation, the patient was not given any kind of anesthesia or any other formality. Holding all three doctors responsible for Richa’s death, action has been demanded against them.
