Haryana: A family from Faridabad went to Yamuna to immerse the ashes of their elderly grandmother. Three members of the family entered Yamuna for immersion of ashes, and as soon as they went some distance, they started drowning in the deep water.
On hearing the noise, other people jumped into Yamuna to save them. Two of them were taken out by the people. At the same time, a young man drowned in the deep water.
On Thursday, an elderly woman died in the Indira Colony of Faridabad.
Today, her three grandsons Sumit, Amit and Deepak along with other members of the family went to Yamuna passing through the Chhayasa area to immerse the ashes of their grandmother. All three grandsons entered Yamuna with the ashes and after going some distance, started drowning.
On hearing the noise, the nearby villagers jumped into Yamuna. Sumit and Amit were saved by the villagers. But 29-year-old Deepak drowned in the deep water. Nothing could be found of him. Deepak was married and has two children.
After getting information about the incident, the police and NDRF team reached the spot and started searching for the drowned Deepak. After 6 hours of hard work, the body of Deepak who had drowned in the Yamuna was recovered. Currently, Deepak’s body has been kept in the mortuary of Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, Faridabad for post-mortem.
