Haryana: A woman died of a snake bite in Nahrana village of Sirsa, adjoining Fatehabad in Haryana. After the woman was bitten by a cobra snake, the family started getting her exorcised. The woman died in the afternoon due to not getting timely treatment. On receiving the information, snake man Pawan Jogpal reached the spot and with great difficulty found and caught the snake in the stubble pit. It was later released in the forest.
Pawan Jogpal told that in village Nahrana today at 5:30 am, 33-year-old woman Suman was taking out stubble to feed the animals. During this time, a snake bit her finger. After this, the family took her to a person in the village for exorcism. After the exorcism, the woman was taken home.
Later, around 10 o’clock, the woman’s health started deteriorating. After an hour and a half, the woman died due to difficulty in breathing.
When people later searched for the snake in the straw pit, it was not found. After this, people called snake man Pawan Jogpal on the spot. The snake was lying there in the pile of straw. When it was taken out, it turned out to be an Indian Speckled Cobra. Jogpal said that this is the second most poisonous snake in India. It has neuro-toxic poison, which directly affects the nervous system and kills the person.
He advised people that in case of a snake bite, the person should be taken directly to the hospital instead of getting exorcised. If the woman was also taken directly to the doctor for treatment, her life could have been saved.
