Jind: ADJ Dr. Chandrahas’s court in Jind, Haryana, has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment for the crime of murdering a person. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 60 thousand rupees on him. If the fine is not paid, the accused will have to undergo an additional year of imprisonment.
According to the prosecution in the court, Vikram, a resident of Dharam Singh Colony Narwana, told the police in a complaint on October 7, 2018, that his brother Jagjit Singh had a long-standing enmity with Raju Pandit of the locality. His brother, Jagjit Singh, was coming home late in the evening. On the way, Raju stopped Jagjit by abusing him on caste lines and attacking him with a knife. Jagjit was seriously injured in this.
Raju was taken to the civil hospital in critical condition. Jagjit died during treatment. On Vikram’s complaint, the Narwana city police station registered a case against Raju Pandit under various sections, including murder and the SC ST Act, and arrested him. The case was pending in court then. On Thursday, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Chandrahas sentenced Raju Pandit to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 60,000.
