Hisar: The Agriculture University of Hisar, Haryana, famous all over the country, has an A+ grade. The grade has been issued by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAB) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) was earlier getting an A grade continuously.
Now the overall grade of the university has become A+. A+ is the best grade for NAB. Various colleges of HAU and various courses running in them have also been granted recognition for 5 years. Apart from this, Agriculture College, Bawal, has also been granted recognition for the first time. The university has achieved this success by getting 3.52 out of 4.00 in grading. At the same time, the Vice Chancellor of HAU said that this A+ grade is the result of the talent of the teachers, non-teaching staff, and students of the state of Haryana and the university, as well as the hard work of the farmers.
The NAB team evaluates qualitative and quantitative metrics. Senior academicians included in this team met with teachers, staff, students, parents, and alumni and assessed qualitative components after inspecting various infrastructure facilities, including colleges, hostels, sports, and health.
The university has been granted recognition by ICAR for 5 years, i.e., from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2028, with an A+ grade. Courses related to various subjects are conducted in the colleges under HAU, which include 7 UG, 47 PG, and 42 PhD courses.
The university was awarded the prestigious Krishi Shiksha Samman Award in the year 2019 for its significant contribution to increasing agricultural productivity and rural prosperity. The Agribusiness Incubation Center (ABIC) of the university received the Best Incubation Center Award at the national level in 2021.
HAU is directly connected with 6 lakh farmers in the state and is providing them with accurate weather information on a daily basis. Technical information about farming is being provided to farmers through community radio stations located at the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the university.
65 startups have been established in the last 5 years, for which an amount of Rs 7 crore has been sanctioned. HAU has achieved remarkable success in the last few years and has obtained a total of 28 intellectual property rights, including 6 patents, 11 copyrights, and 11 designs.
