Chandigarh-Udaipur Chetak Express suspended due to platform upgradation and ongoing construction

For this, a report has been sought again from Ambala Division.

Chandigarh: Ambala Division has now refused to run the Chetak Express between Chandigarh and Udaipur, citing traffic as the reason. The Railway Board had prepared the arrival and departure times of the Chetak Express. During this time, no platform remains vacant at Chandigarh Railway Station. Due to this, the board took this decision.

According to the information of the Board, during the timing of Chetak Express, many other trains are running at that time. But the Railway Board is still planning to run this train every week. For this, a report has been sought again from Ambala Division.

According to the schedule given by the Railway Board, Chetak Express was to reach Chandigarh Railway Station at 9:15 am and leave Chandigarh at 3:45 pm.

But at the time of its arrival, the timing of trains like the Lucknow-Chandigarh Sadbhavna Express, Prayagraj-Chandigarh Unchahar Express, Kochi Valley Express, and Amritsar-Chandigarh is already fixed. At the same time, the timings of trains like Delhi Amb Vande Bharat Train, Chandigarh Ajmer Vande Bharat Train, Chandigarh Ramnagar Express, Chandigarh Prayagraj Express, and Chandigarh Lucknow Express are fixed at the time of their departure.

Work is going on at many levels to make Chandigarh Railway Station world-class. Under this, work is being done to upgrade platform number one. In such a situation, railway officials do not want to increase the additional burden of rail traffic right now. However, technical feasibility is being considered for this. It is possible that until the work on the platform is completed, it may be run every week.
