Ambala: Protest escalates as Haryana Police detain farmers from grain market

As per the farmer leaders, they were to gather in the grain market to feliciate Navdeep Jalbera.

Ambala: The farmers protesting at the Shambhu border are protesting in Ambala, Haryana today. They have called the farmers here in the new grain market of Ambala City.

However, even before the meeting of the farmers could start, the police implemented section 163 of BNS (earlier section 144). At the same time, arrests of the farmers have also been made by the police.

As per the farmer leaders, they were to gather in the grain market to feliciate Navdeep Jalbera. Farmers leaders said that many farmers were detained by Haryana Police even before their meeting could start. Police has detained many farmers including farmer leader Amarjit Singh Mohri.

Farmer leader Tejveer Singh alleged that Haryana Police officers are coming inside the Punjab border and detaining the farmers. He demanded that the Punjab government should answer these arrests made by the Haryana police.

Earlier this protest was to surround the SP office of Ambala for the release of Navdeep Jalbera but on Tuesday, Jalbera was released late night as he got the bail.

Earlier, farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal had announced to march to Delhi. He says that we are just waiting for the Shambhu border to open.
