Attack on Agriculture Department officer in Panipat, had gone to stop burning of crop residue

Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Panipat: In Israna of Panipat district, the agriculture department official who went to stop the burning of crop residue was attacked. Due to this he suffered leg injury and his laptop was also broken. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Technical manager of the agriculture department, Sitender Kumar said that on 27th November, someone from village Lohari informed over the phone that a farmer was burning crop residue in his field. He went to the spot and saw that a person was burning crop residue. On seeing the farmer burning residue, he came forward and stopped him.

Sitender said that two days after this, on 29th November, the same farmer again tried to burn the residue. This time the farmer had come along with his mother and the said farmer attacked the official.

Due to the attack, Sitender suffered leg injury and his laptop was broken. He added that after the attack he called 112 but the police didn’t reach on time, so he took the help of the village sarpanch. He was admitted to a government hospital for treatment where he underwent treatment.
