Delhi Metro will extend the Green Line from Indralok to Indraprastha under the fourth phase. This construction work will be completed by the year 2029. This will provide great convenience to metro passengers traveling from Bahadurgarh to different parts of Delhi.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited tenders for its design and construction. DMRC officials said that under the fourth phase of the metro, there will be an extension of 12.3 km from Indralok to Indraprastha. 10 new metro stations will be built on this route. In this, the 8 km long part of Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block extension will now become a part of the Golden Line.
In the meeting of the Union Cabinet in March this year, 2 new metro corridors were approved under the fourth phase of Delhi Metro. According to the tender issued by DMRC, underground stations will be built at 4 places. Apart from this, work will also be done on the entry exit of the fifth station in Nabi Karim.
These 10 metro stations will be in Greenline Extension
Under the fourth phase, there will be 10 stations in Greenline Extension. These include Indralok, Daya Basti, Ajmal Khan Park, Jhandewalan Temple, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Delhi Secretariat and Indraprastha. The extension of this corridor also includes 5 interchange stations. These interchanges will be at Indralok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate and Indraprastha. This will connect this corridor to the Red, Magenta, Yellow, Violet and Blue lines of the Metro.
Access to areas of Central and East Delhi will be easy
The extension of Greenline from Indralok to Indraprastha will also benefit the people of Haryana. With this metro line, people from Bahadurgarh will be able to reach Indraprastha as well as different areas of Central and East Delhi through the Green Line. The deadline for completion of this corridor has been set as 2029.
