Bailable warrant issued against BDPO in Panipat; order to appear on January 30

Panchayat elections were held in village of Sanauli Khurd in the year 2022.

Panipat: The Haryana Information Commission has issued a bailable warrant in the name of the BDPO of Sanauli town in Panipat district. According to the warrant, orders have been issued to the officer to appear in person on January 30. Panchayat elections were held in village of Sanauli Khurd in the year 2022.

Mahendra Chawla, the main witness in the Asaram case, a resident of the village, had accused the current Sarpanch Sanjay Tyagi, Panch Babita, and Pradeep of contesting the elections based on some wrong and false facts. It was alleged that false affidavits were given along with the nomination papers.

In November 2022, Mahendra Chawla had sought the nomination papers and other related documents of all these through RTI. However BDPO Sanauli did not provide information. After which Chawla filed a first appeal. Even after the order of the First Appeal Officer DDPO, no information was provided by BDPO Sanauli.

After which Mahendra Chawla filed a complaint in the Information Commission in the year 2023 and appealed to take action against BDPO Sanauli. The Information Commission issued notices to both the parties for hearing. But despite repeated notices, BDPO Sanauli neither provided the information nor appeared before the Commission.

This has been taken seriously by the Information Commission and a bailable warrant has been issued in the name of BDPO Sanauli. Orders have been issued to appear on January 30. Orders have also been issued for serving the warrant by sending a copy of the bailable warrant to SP Panipat.
