Chandigarh: The Haryana government has banned the recruitment of jobs in the National Health Mission (NHM) with immediate effect. Only doctors and specialist doctors will be able to be posted in the department. Apart from these, if any recruitment is to be done, then permission will have to be taken from the Finance Department of the state. In this regard, the Mission Director of NHM has sent a letter to all the CMOs and informed them.
The letter said, the recruitment of all the vacant posts of the year 2023-24 and 2024-25 should be stopped. The decision was taken because questions have been asked in many districts regarding the recruitment made under the National Health Mission.
Given all the questions, the department has decided to stop the recruitment. It is worth noting that the Finance Department has already raised questions on the recruitment of NHM employees and this matter is pending with the Finance Department.
Since 2018, NHM employees have been getting salaries as per grade pay. Now a proposal was sent by NHM to pay salary to the employees as per the 7th Pay Commission. The Finance Department objected that when the service rules (bylaws) were made for the employees, the permission of the Finance Department was not taken, so on 30 October, orders were given to freeze the bylaws. The Finance Department also asked to decide the fixed salary within a week. However, they were reinstated the very next day. After this, the service rules were frozen again in the month of November.
