Bawani Khera: In Bawani Khera, Bhiwani district of Haryana, the drainage being built by NHAI to connect the water tank and the pipeline being laid was seen getting damaged before use. After the complaint, the Executive Engineer said that the work would be done under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Engineer and Junior Engineer.
The truth came out after water came into the Sundar Canal. On one hand, the people of the town protested on Friday against the use of low-quality material in the drain built for the first water tank. The SDO assured to lay a permanent pipeline. On the other hand, for the second water tank, the councilors and social workers have inspected the connection of the pipeline to the Sundar Canal many times. But only assurances were given by the NHAI.
On Saturday, Ramesh Kajal, Jagdamba Mahta, Kuldeep Sharma, Himmat Singh, Ramgopal Saini, Hanuman Parasar, Omprakash Yadav, Santlal, etc. inspected and found that water had come into the Sundar Canal, and without releasing any water, the tank “chamber” made there had developed cracks due to leakage. The pipeline was connected and left along with the Sundar Canal. However, due to not releasing the supply and leakage, water came into the tank without being released. Cracks developed in the band “Talhati” of the drain. People present said that the plastering has been done with a red crusher and less cement has been used. There are cracks in the drain. The area from where the water is to come is low, and the area where it has to reach is high.
Former Nagar Palika Pradhan Ramesh Kajal said that after not getting any satisfactory answer from NHAI, talks were held with the PA of the Bhiwani Deputy Commissioner to the PA of the Chief Minister, and he appealed to get this problem resolved. Because the pipeline and drain, which are to be used for a long time, cannot bear the leakage of water without connections, there is a 100% chance of these breaking when water connections are made. The people of the town appealed to NHAI to work quickly and use strong materials.
The Executive Engineer of the Public Health and Engineering Department, Vikas Dhankhar, said that he has received the information. He has assigned the duty to the sub-divisional engineer and junior engineer of the department to get the work done using high-quality material.
