Sirsa: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is on a visit to Sirsa today. He first reached the residence of Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) supremo and MLA Gopal Kanda in Sirsa. Here Naib Saini offered prayers at Shri Tara Baba. During the visit, Nayab Saini surprised the media by saying in a statement that BJP will contest the elections in Haryana along with Gopal Kanda’s HLP. Gopal Kanda’s HLP (Haryana Lokhit Party) is a part of NDA (National Democratic Alliance).

It is worth noting that Sirsa MLA and Haryana Lokhit Party chief Gopal Kanda had also met Union Education Minister and BJP’s Haryana in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan recently and had asked for 15 seats as a part of NDA. Although the top leadership of BJP has not yet opened its cards regarding the alliance and issues, but today Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has stated contesting the elections together.

Let us tell you that earlier Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar wanted to ally with HLP before the 2019 assembly elections. Former MP Sunita Duggal had made efforts for this. But the top leadership did not let this happen.

Who is Gopal Kanda?

According to Gopal Kanda’s affidavit given to the Election Commission before the 2019 assembly elections, 9 criminal cases including abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy, forgery, fraud and check bounce were pending against him in various courts. However, even after the elections, Gopal Kanda had shamelessly supported the Manohar government of Haryana which fell short of the majority. BJP is rewarding Kanda’s loyalty by forming an alliance with him. Now in the upcoming elections, BJP will contest together with HLP.
