Chandigarh: Former Haryana CM Chaudhary Bansi Lal’s daughter-in-law and MLA from Bhiwani’s Tosham Kiran Chaudhary and his former MP daughter Shruti Chaudhary went to Delhi on Wednesday and joined BJP. Former Haryana CM and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and CM Naib Saini welcomed them along with BJP leaders.
On this occasion, Union Minister Khattar said- “I have known sister Kiran ji since the time when we used to work together with Bansi Lal ji. Her body may have been in Congress, but her mind has always been in BJP.”
CM Naib Saini said- “I also welcome Kiran Chaudhary and Shruti Chaudhary as the party president. I assure you that as the head of the state and the party, I will work to strengthen Haryana by including Kiran and Shruti Chaudhary in BJP as a family.”
Shruti Chaudhary said- ”I have joined BJP inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Manohar Lal Khattar ran the government in Haryana honestly like Chaudhary Bansi Lal during his tenure as CM.”
Kiran Chaudhary said- ”I have been a hardworking worker of Congress. I gave my life to Congress with a lot of hard work. But, for years I have been seeing that the party in Haryana has become person-centric. Those who do not want Congress to progress, follow those policies.
You can understand that Congress cannot progress further. Because of him, many big leaders left Congress. He cannot tolerate anyone. He feels that if someone equal to him comes, he finishes him off.” Kiran Chaudhary targeted former CM Bhupendra Hooda here.
Resigned from Congress yesterday
Let us tell you that Kiran Chaudhary and Shruti left Congress last evening (18 June). They sent their resignation to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. In which Kiran wrote that the party is being run like a personal estate. I was insulted. Conspiracies were hatched to finish me.
Kiran Chaudhary was looking angry ever since her daughter Shruti Chaudhary’s ticket was cut from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seat in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP can send Kiran Chaudhary to Rajya Sabha from Haryana. Shruti Chaudhary can be fielded in the assembly elections from Tosham.
In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress won 5 out of 10 seats in Haryana. Apart from this, Congress had won 46 out of 90 assembly seats and BJP had won 44. In such a situation, the atmosphere was considered good for Congress in the assembly elections after 3 months, but now the joining of former CM Bansi Lal’s family to BJP is being considered a big setback for Congress.
