Last night around 10 o’clock in Karnal, 30-35 miscreants attacked the house of newly elected BJP councilor Rajesh. Armed with sticks and swords, the miscreants damaged the car parked outside the councilor’s house and pelted stones at the house. The police reached the spot and started investigating the matter and took two accused into custody.
Councilor Rajesh said that suddenly a large number of miscreants reached his house and attacked. He said that his nephew was standing outside the house, when was targeted by the miscreants and attacked him. When other family members came to save him, the attackers attacked with sticks and swords.
Rajesh further said that the attackers damaged the vehicles parked outside the house and pelted stones at the house. This attack created an atmosphere of panic in the area. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and controlled the situation. The police sent the injured nephew to the hospital for medical examination.
The attacking party also gave its statement in this matter. He said that after councilor Rajesh won the election, his supporters took out a victory procession, in which some such acts were done which he did not like. The police have taken two accused into custody and are investigating the entire matter. There is tension in the area after this incident, but the police have maintained control over the situation. We are investigating the matter thoroughly. Statements of both the parties are being taken. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
