On Meerut Road in Karnal, a canter lost its balance and hit the wall on the side of the road. In this accident, the driver and cleaner of the canter died. The reason for the accident is said to be two trolleys tied behind the tractor.
The accident was so terrible that the driver and cleaner got badly stuck in the cabin and died on the spot. After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and about 2 hours after the accident, the cabin was opened with the help of Hydra and both were taken out.
The police has taken both the bodies in its custody and sent them to the mortuary house in Karnal. The deceased have not been identified. The police is investigating the matter.
Hydra did not arrive for two hours
Eyewitnesses Rajbir, Sonu and Ashok told that sacks were loaded inside the canter. On Meerut Road, the canter collided with the wall due to the trolleys. The driver died on the spot in the accident and the cleaner got stuck in it. The accident happened around 10:30 pm but the hydra did not reach the spot even till 12:30 pm.
If the hydra machine had reached the spot, the injured cleaner could have been pulled out and saved. When the police was talked to, they told that the hydra was stuck in the jam.
The tractor was running with double trolleys
Eyewitnesses were angry. They told that the tractor was running with double trolleys and that is why the accident happened. People said that action should be taken against such tractor drivers who are careless. Tractor drivers with double trolleys easily pass through the police check post, whereas other vehicles are challaned if they do not have documents.
Police engaged in identification
After the information of the accident, the in-charge of Dial-112 told that information about the accident was received. In which two people have died. Both have not been identified yet. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for identification. After identification, the bodies will be postmortemed and handed over to the relatives. Action will be taken as per rules on the basis of the complaint.
