Police arrests two snatchers in Chandigarh

They used to commit crimes to fulfill their drug addiction; they used to commit crimes under the pretext of a girl.

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police have arrested a young man and a young woman in a case of snatching. Both of them used to commit crimes to fulfill their drug addiction. While one of their partners is still out of reach. They used to roam around the streets of Chandigarh at night under the pretext of a girl. So that no one suspects them.

According to information received from police sources, earlier they used to take money from their home for drugs. But later, they committed such crimes. The police are currently interrogating them. The accused have been identified as Abhishek (24 years) and Simran (19 years), residents of Small Flat Dhanas.

These accused used to commit crimes in a very cunning manner. After committing such crimes, they used to sit in a park nearby. Due to the girl being with them, no one suspected them. They used to hide the stolen things in the same park. Later, they used to leave from there with the goods. Due to this reason, the police have not been able to find any of their old crime records till now. Police interrogation will reveal how many such incidents they have committed.

A youth named Kalu had complained in the Sector 36 police station of Chandigarh that he was returning from work on July 3. When he reached the slip road in Sector 53, two youths and a girl suddenly came out of the forest and stopped him.

After stopping him, they snatched his mobile phone and purse by showing a knife. In this complaint, the police registered a case against an unknown accused under Sections 309(4) and 317(2) of the Indian Penal Code. Later, the police identified the accused by scanning the nearby CCTV cameras.
