AAP councilor Ladi gets anticipatory bail in Chandigarh: Case filed for burning BJP flag

Chandigarh: Councilor Jasvir Singh Ladi of Ward No. 21 in Chandigarh has got relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The High Court has granted him anticipatory bail in the case of burning the flag of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was accused of burning the BJP flag after the results of the Lok.

On the complaint of the BJP, a case was registered against him at Police Station 31 on June 6, 2024. In this case, he had petitioned for bail.

Councilor Jasvir Singh Ladi also had a dispute with former MP Kiran Kher during the Municipal Corporation meeting on June 6 last year. Jasvir Singh Ladi had alleged that Kiran Kher had used abusive language and made derogatory remarks to him in the House. He had complained about this to Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur as well as the Punjab Governor, DC Chandigarh, Minority Commission, Chandigarh Advisor, and SGPC.

A complaint was given to Sector-31 Police Station by the BJP that on the evening of June 4, 2024, some people of Ward No. 21 Village Faida and councillor Jasvir Singh Ladi burned the BJP flag. A video of which has also surfaced. Along with this, some dangerous firecrackers have also been burned by them, which are banned in the city. This video has also been posted on social media.

Due to this incident, any kind of riot and fight can happen in the city. This can also create mutual anger among the workers of the parties. The video, which has been posted on social media, has spread not only in Tricity but everywhere. Due to this riots can happen anywhere. Following the complaint, the police investigated and registered a case against Jasvir Singh Ladi under sections 153-A, 143, 149, 120-B, and 505(2) of the IPC.
