Cruiser falls into Bhakra Canal: 6 reported dead, rescue operation on

After receiving the information, the police reached the spot at night. After this, NDRF was also called to the spot and the search operation started in the canal. The cruiser vehicle was taken out at night. In the morning, the bodies of 5 people were recovered from the Punjab area between Kalanwali and Sardulgarh, the search operation is still going on to search for the remaining people.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert in 9 districts of Haryana. If it rains during the search operation, then the difficulties of the NDRF team engaged in searching for the missing people may increase.

The passengers in the cruiser car that fell into the canal were Jarnail Singh (40), resident of Mahmda, driver Surendra Singh (55), Jhando Bai (65), Balveer Singh (60), Taro Bai (60), Jangiro Bai (45), Lakhwinder Kaur (25), Sahajdeep (1), Jaswinder Singh (35), Arman (10), Sajna (12), Ravinder Kaur (35), resident of village Riyond Kalan district Mansa, Punjab, Chhira Bai (60), resident of village Sarpali district Mansa and Kanato Bai (45), resident of village Fatehpur.

The condition of Jarnail Singh and Arman is fine and the body of Balveer was taken out along with the car.
