Chandigarh: Cyberfraud cases are increasing day by day in Haryana. Cyber fraudsters committed such fraud by creating fake Facebook profiles of Haryana Police IG and DIG. Through this profile, the fraudsters asked for money from their acquaintances by luring them with a job in the police. Not only this, but their acquaintances also gave money. Later, when the real officials were contacted, the whole matter was exposed.
IG Dr. Rajshree got an FIR registered against the accused. She also released information about this on her original social media account. She said that there was a blue tick on her original page, and she has no other account. If someone contacts her from another account or page, do not respond to it. IG Rajshree is working at the Haryana Police Academy in Madhuban, and she has also been the IG of Traffic and Highway in Karnal.
When the IG talked to the media, she clarified that someone had created a fake ID on my Facebook—those messages to ask for money. If someone is getting a message, talk to that person on call once, and do not transfer money to anyone without talking.
It is being said that cyberthugs create fake IDs, message people, and ask for money in different ways. For this, they send the bank account number and mobile number in the message. When that mobile number is checked on WhatsApp, the photo of that officer is also put on that number, so that the person sending the money is convinced that the officer’s ID is real. Believing it to be true, people send money and later come to know that they have been cheated.
