2 lakhs steals from person account in Bhiwani

Searched the number on Google when the courier did not arrive and cheated by posing as a company employee.

Bhiwani: Cyberthugs cheated 2 lakh rupees in the name of a courier company in Bhiwani, Haryana. The victim has complained about the incident at the cyber police station. The police have not been able to find any clues about the cyber fraudsters.

Surendra, a resident of Dhanana village, told the police that he had ordered online from a company to buy thyroid medicine. As the courier did not arrive on time, he searched on Google on July 19 and found the customer care number of the DTDC courier.

He called on the number found on Google. There he was told that an attempt was made to deliver the courier, but no one picked up the call. Now the address will have to be changed. After this, he got a call from a WhatsApp number. He was asked to download the address application online through Delivery Attempt. He was asked to pay 2 rupees. He made the payment.

After this, on July 21 and July 22, one lakh and 99 thousand rupees were withdrawn from the Punjab National Bank account. After this, a complaint was lodged with the cyber police.
