To end drug abuse in Haryana, the state-level Nasha Mukt Haryana Cyclothon 2.0 campaign was flagged off by CM Naib Singh Saini on Saturday morning.
The route from Gate No. 1 of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University to Fletcher Bhawan (HAU Administrative Block) was chosen for the campaign. About 50 thousand people registered for Cyclothon 2.0. About ten thousand bicycles reached Mahabir Stadium late at night. The youth set out with bicycles here since morning. On Friday evening, the CM reached the residence of BJP state general secretary Surendra Punia. Late at night, he reached the residence of BJP leader Ramniwas Rada in Sainian Mohalla in Hisar.
The campaign’s nodal officer, Rajesh Kauth, said that starting from Hisar, this journey will enter the Bhiwani district. This cyclothon is not just a game or event, but it is the beginning of a social revolution. Thousands of youth, students, police, army, NCC, NSS, and people from other sections of the society participated. This event will prove to be a historic step towards making Haryana drug-free, as per the officer. This participation of people is taking us towards a record. The event will infuse a new energy and inspiration in the entire state.
During the program, cultural programs were also organized to take the de-addiction campaign to the masses. Subhash Fauji, Amit Dhul, Naveen Punia, Pooja Hooda, and Pradeep Bura inspired the youth through their presentations. Artists of the Information Public Relations and Language Department also kept making people aware of the ill effects of drugs through their performances on this occasion. This journey, starting from Hisar will continue till April 27 and will end in Sirsa after passing through various districts of the state.
Tomorrow, the journey will move from Hisar towards Bhiwani district and will move forward through Ladwa, Sultanpur, Umra, Ratera, Dhani Kirwar, Tosham, Sagban and Bapodra.
