Panipat: Dense fog has been looming over Haryana for the third consecutive day. Many cities including Hisar, Panipat, Rohtak, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Jind, Palwal and Mahendragarh are in the grip of fog. Visibility is 5 to 10 meters.
Fog is falling like raindrops. Roads have become wet. Vehicle drivers have to drive with lights on and cold wave is blowing.
The cold of Haryana has left Himachal behind as well. Karnal is as cold as Kufri. The day temperature of Karnal was 13.0 degrees while the temperature of Kufri is 13.2 degrees. Similarly, there are 9 cities in the state which are colder than Manali, these include districts like Ambala, Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Gurugram, Jind, Kurukshetra, Panipat and Sonipat.
Apart from this, Shimla-like cold can be seen in the whole of Haryana. The temperature of Shimla was 17.2 degrees, while the temperature of most of the cities of Haryana has reached below 17 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope of relief from cold in the coming days.
A new advisory has been issued by the Meteorological Department. In this, a warning of cold day has been given in 10 cities today. These cities include Sirsa, Hisar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Jind, Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat.
Sirsa, Hisar, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Jind will get some relief from light sunshine, but Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat will be under the attack of cold day for the whole day. Apart from this, fog can cause problems at night in Bhiwani, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri and Jhajjar.
The effect of continuous snowfall on mountains is more visible in plains. North-western cold winds have increased the chill. Due to fog in the morning and cold winds, the night temperature has come down rapidly. The minimum temperature of Balsmand in Hisar in the state reached 2.3 degrees.
