Rainwater not accumulate on roads in Chandigarh

The administration will clean drains and lanes again, costing around 60 lakhs. During the last three rains, complaints were received about water accumulation in many places in Chandigarh. After this, the administration has decided to clean the drains and lanes of the city again. For this, tenders worth about 60 lakh rupees have been issued by the administration. Whichever company will do this work, that company will keep cleaning them after every rain from July 15 to October 31. So that there is no blockage in the drains and lanes and water does not accumulate on the roads. The city has been divided into different zones by the Chandigarh administration. Accordingly, this cleaning work will be done. Chandigarh Chief Engineer CB Ojha said that complete cleaning had been done before the monsoon. But this step has been taken to continue it further. Because the tenders for the work done in the past have ended. The people of the city should not face any kind of problem during the monsoon season. For this, these tenders are being given to get the work done again and continuously. This is especially true for the monsoon season from July 15 to October 31. Before the monsoon, the Municipal Corporation had done pre-monsoon work at a cost of about Rs 1.35 crore, and the administration had also claimed the completion of this work. But even then, after three days of rain, waterlogging was seen at many places in the city. The administration is now going to issue a helpline number for this soon. If there is any problem of waterlogging in any area, then it can be reported on that helpline number. For this, the administration has also formed different teams.
