Fatehabad: E-KYC of ration card holders is being done to prevent rigging in the ration distribution case under the PDS system in the state. If any ration card holder of the state does not get e-KYC done for himself and his family, then his ration card will be closed, after which he will not get grains. There are more than 1 lakh 87 thousand ration card holders in Fatehabad district. Actually, the family members of the families whose names are in the family identity card (Parivaar Pechaan Patra) or Aadhar card in the state are living outside the state for some reason or their ration is also being given. The government wants that whoever gets ration, his e-KYC should be done here, only then he will be considered eligible to get ration.
Ration card holders of the district will have to get e-KYC done, otherwise you will not be given ration. District Food and Supply Controller Vineet Jain says that there are more than 1 lakh 87 thousand card holders in the district. Out of this, about 40 percent people have got e-KYC done. It is necessary for the remaining consumers to get this done as well. Necessary instructions have been given to all AFSOs and ration card holders to achieve 100% target of e-KYC. Soon this target will be achieved.
Many times ration is also taken of such people who are out of town for a long time or are dead. There will be no scope for fraud after getting KYC done. Grains will be given to those members who have eKYC. Grains will not be given to those people who do not have fingerprints. Finger match is done with Aadhar card, only then eKYC is completed. It is absolutely free. There is no charge for this.
The state government had earlier fixed the deadline of 29 February for doing e-KYC of all ration card holders. According to the decision taken by the government, the target of doing 40 percent e-KYC work by November 2023, 60 percent e-KYC work by December 2023 and 80 percent e-KYC was set by January 2024, while the deadline for doing 100 percent e-KYC was set by 29 February 2024. Consider it the negligence of the officers or depot holders or lack of awareness about it among the people, the department could not achieve the target even by the deadline.
Now after this, the deadline of 10 June 2024 was fixed. If the target was not achieved after the date passed, then people stopped getting ration cards. This was the reason that on June 11, there were queues of ration card holders for e-KYC at all the Aadhar centers, banks, CSC centers of Fatehabad.
