Sonipat: Earthquake tremors were felt in Haryana’s Sonipat, Panipat and Rohtak districts on Monday at 12:28 pm. Its intensity was recorded at 3.5 on the Richter scale. Due to the earthquake tremors, people came out of their homes and came to open places.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was Sonipat and it was located at a depth of 5 kilometers from the surface. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far. The earthquake tremors were mild, but vibrations were felt in buildings and houses.
As soon as the earthquake tremors hit, people of Sonipat, Panipat and Rohtak ran out of their homes. Some people gathered in open places in fear. Local resident Sumit said, “The vibration was so strong that the windows and doors started shaking. We came out immediately.”
