The storm and rain that came in Hansi of Hisar on Friday afternoon caused heavy damage in the city and surrounding rural areas. Due to the storm, electricity poles fell at many places and power supply was disrupted. According to the electricity department, more than two dozen poles were uprooted or broken due to strong winds, causing darkness in many localities and villages.
To restore the power system, the department’s teams have been engaged in repair work since night. SDO of the department Mohan Lal said that taking prompt action in the emergency situation, power has been temporarily restored by making alternative arrangements at many places. However, the work of restoring the line is still going on in some areas.
Power lines have been broken due to falling of trees at many places in rural areas. Departmental employees have started the work of restoring the line by removing trees with the help of local administration and forest department. The department has appealed to the general public not to go near the broken wires or poles and inform the helpline number for any kind of problem.
The department has also assured that power supply will be restored in most of the affected areas by late Saturday night
