Nuh: An encounter took place between cow smugglers and cow protection squad members on Friday night at around 2:30 am in Sheikhpur village located on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway under Firozpur Jhirka police station area of Nuh district.
In this encounter, a member of the cow protection squad was injured by bullet. Injured member Sonu, resident of Rewari, has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon where his condition is said to be critical.
At the same time, the police have arrested a pickup full of cows and a smuggler. Police have recovered 3 cows from the pickup and sent them to the Gaushala. At the same time, two cow smugglers have managed to escape. The surprising thing has come to light that this time the smugglers are not Muslims but Hindus. After the incident, the police is in action mode.
After the incident, police officials have increased patrolling in the area. This is the same area where a lot of controversy had arisen over cow smuggling for the last few years. Therefore, the police would not want to show any leniency.
No FIR has been registered by the police in this regard yet. The police has gone to Gurgaon to record the statement of the injured. At present, the local police is not revealing anything about the case. Firozpur Jhirka DSP Surendra says that the station in-charge has gone to the spot.
