Kaithal: Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who reached Kaithal in Haryana, strongly attacked the anti-farmer policies of the government. Tikait, who arrived to attend the funeral of a farmer, said that the demands of the farmers will be discussed in the meeting with the government on February 14. He talked about giving full support to the movement led by Dallewal.
Tikait, who reached village Kultaran, also targeted former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He said that earlier crops from outside were also sold in Haryana, but today the situation is that the crops of the farmers here come to the mandis, but are not sold. He clarified that MSP is not just an issue of Haryana but of the whole country.
The farmer leader made serious allegations on the policies of the government and said that the government is waiving the loans of big businessmen, while ignoring small shopkeepers and farmers-laborers. He warned that if this situation remains, soon 70 percent of the land will go into the hands of industrialists. He also talked about a conspiracy to end weekly markets.
Referring to the farmers’ movement, Tikait said that it was clear at that time itself that the government was not thinking in the interest of the farmers. He demanded a quick solution from the government and said that farmers are ready to go to any extent for their rights.
