Fatehabad: A tragic incident took place in Tehri village, Haryana, near the Punjab border on Tuesday morning. An old farmer who went to supply water to his field at midnight died after the roof of a room collapsed. He got buried under the debris of the roof and died on spot.
According to the police investigation, the deceased is identified as Mahaveer Singh (67), a resident of Tehri village, Fatehabad, in Haryana, who was a farmer by occupation. He went to supply water to his field on Monday night. Due to light rain, he sat inside the tube well room after supplying water when the roof of the room collapsed.
Nishan Singh said in the hospital that around 5 p.m., Mahaveer went inside the room to take care of the tube well, and the roof fell due to which he died on the spot. The next day, after 6 a.m., his son Vinod came to the field and saw the fallen roof, and found his father buried under the debris of the roof.
He informed other members of the family and then informed the police. Police reached the spot and an investigation is being carried out.
