Fatehabad police takes action against cyber fraud, Three thugs of interstate gang arrested

Fatehabad Police has achieved success in a major case of cyber fraud and arrested three members of an interstate cyber gang from Nagaland. The special team of the Cyber Police Station raided Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, and arrested three vicious thugs of the gang and included them in the investigation.

The accused have been identified as Nizamuddin son of Mumser, resident of Assam, Momin Ahmed, son of Abdul Salam resident of Nagaland and Hasan Ahmed son of Jamaluddin, resident of Kohima (Assam). Police has also recovered an Apple mobile from the possession of the accused, whose forensic investigation is going on.

The gang members used to send unknown phishing links to people. As soon as the link was clicked, an APK file would be downloaded in the mobile, due to which their phone would come under the control of the thugs. After this, they would extract bank details and withdraw money from the accounts.

This action was started on the complaint of Joginder Kumar, a resident of Fatehabad, who is currently posted as a constable in Haryana Police in Faridabad. On 9 December 2024, he received a suspicious link, on clicking which an APK file got downloaded in his mobile. The fraudsters withdrew Rs 75,900 from his HDFC Bank credit card. The complaint was lodged on the National Cyber Crime Portal and a case was registered at Cyber Police Station Fatehabad on 22 April 2025.
